Hello and welcome to
Angela Gifford (International).
My career in the United Kingdom home care industry began in 1980 when, I began a small company providing home support for older people.
This fledgling business, now Able Community Care Limited (www.uk-care.com), has since provided just under 53 million hours of home care and support to people with high dependency, care needs though out the UK.
Since 1980, I have worked with all levels of the UK Government and the Statutory Care Sectors helping to shape policy, practice and with numerous other care providers in the UK from all care sectors. In addition I have worked with thousands of members of the general public, their families and advocates.
In 1990 I became a Member of The Law Society of Expert Witnesses with reference to personal injury claims.
Since 2008 I have worked in an international capacity as an advisor with reference to both the aged care and disability sectors.
I write on care issues for many publications on a regular basis, publish and edit a bi-monthly care magazine, publish a weekly care Newsflash which has worldwide subscribers and I have appeared on television and radio. I regularly present at conferences on the subject of care for elderly and disabled peopleboth in the UK and internationally.
